D. S. Richardson: "I was born in Chicago in 1941. My father had studied engineering and was in the army at the time, helping to make explosives. I was raised by my mother, who was a real estate agent in Carmel, California. I got married, and studied logic in Bristol, in the UK. I did some mathematics. I got divorced and got married again. I have two substantial children. I lecture in computing at Bath University. I am interested in small numbers, and sometimes, with great difficulty, write stories."
