Douglas Cole Wolf Moon The moon coming up full and yellow a wolf-moon, I think meaning somewhere out there a wolf is roaming far from the pack the way it happens occasionally one stops and lifts its head scans for something then trots away the others barely glancing but knowing all the same and the one alone sets off in some direction to watch you'd think there was certainty in that stride he knows where he's going he chose this course up over the rise and into the little box canyon where his shadow falls like shed skin down the slope and above that big moon shining all the landscape silver with its light and that one wolf goes on maybe he doesn't have a clue maybe some coded instinct draws him on anything is possible I imagine with a big yellow moon like that anything at all |
