Sara McAulay
Sara McA grew up in Virginia but has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for most of her adult life. She is the author of three novels and numerous works of short fiction and nonfiction. Her work has appeared in Arroyo Literary Review, Black Warrior Review, California Quarterly, The Literary Review, Lodestar Quarterly, North American Review, Third Coast and ZYZZYVA, among others.
Sara has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts for her prose. She taught creative writing and literature at CSU East Bay (formerly CSU Hayward) for many years. She is now retired, a state that suits her very, very well.
In her dotage she has taken up the sport of dog agility. She spends most weekends trying to keep up with her wicked fast Aussies, and then she ices her knees. Her wife and the cat think they are all completely crazy.
